followed by a fit of uncontrollable sobbing I'd call you. If I needed advice, or comfort, or wisdom. Over the years, sometimes decades, you have been there for me time and time again. You have extended friendship that I never earned, and loyalty that was undeserved. I would like to honor the positive impact you make on my life. I want to introduce you to my guests, see you in the pictures, and have you share this special day. I imagine you, my-very-special-wouldn't-be-the-same-person-without-you, friend as part of my wedding in every way (minus standing for the duration of the ceremony). You will process and recess with flowers, but be seated front and center. Close enough for me to glance over at you knowing, that should the unimaginable happen, you'll be there. |

Hon-or-ary Brides-maid, noun A close friend of the Bride, elected in recognition of achievement or service without the usual prerequisites or obligations, unpaid and voluntary attendant, formally escorted in and out of sanctuary to special seating section with flowers, possibly preform reading at ceremony. Additional duties may include keeping the bride calm, cool, and appearing collected; reminding the bride not to slump, to smile and to breathe. Hopefully you do all this while being beautiful and enjoying the night as well. --CM |

If you are able to attend my wedding in September, I will be overjoyed to have you there! Please consider coordinating with other honorary bridesmaids wearing a sky blue dress from Chadwick’s of Boston. The dress and sizing charts are available online. Each attendant will need to arrange for her alterations. I will find cheap and chic shoes that don’t clash. The dress is currently for sale at a clearance price, so please do not procrastinate. If you are unable to participate, don’t worry. But if you want to coordinate, try to order your dress by the end of the week. Ship it to yourself, try it on, make alterations, and bring it to the wedding. I will have your shoes and sash. More on hair, makeup, and festivities later.
Who's already ordered? Everyone, wow. |
